Does the player on the left look familiar? It should!
That's Nikki Krzysik playing for University of Virginia this weekend at the Kicks Against Breast Cancer charity soccer tournament. Nikki played for Jersey Sky Blue last summer and the word from the UVA videographer is Virginia won that game against Georgetown. All due to former SBS player holding down the back line! Just goes to show, from Olympic Qualifiers to the Algarve Cup or a charity soccer tournament in Maryland, Sky Blue Soccer can be found around the world. More to come from my inspiring trip to the Kicks event....
Cheers,
Natalie

Portugal won its first two games of the Algarve Cup before falling to Iceland 2-0. That game featured a matchup between Sky Blue players Kim Brandão (Portugal) and Erla Arnardóttir (Iceland). Erla has committed to playing for Kristianstad DFF of the Damallsvenskan in Sweden for the 2008 season.

The Fair Game Magazine blog has ongoing coverage of the Algarve Cup. In addition, there's a shot of new Sky Blue professional head coach Ian Sawyers checking out a game along with a shot of another "mystery" coach (April Heinrichs - another new pro league coach?)

Sky Blue's Kim Brandão is currently playing with the Portugal Women's National Team at the Algarve Cup in Portugal. Portugal started off successfully with a 2-0 victory over the Republic of Ireland. You can't see Kim in the highlights but you can see her in the back row in the starting lineup shot (third from left).
