When the WUSA folded in 2003 after only three years of existence, Jaime Komar thought her chances of playing professional soccer might have folded with it.

Komar, who graduated from St. John Vianney that same year, maintained hope that professional women's soccer would return to the United States, a dream that consumed much of her classwork at Rutgers University.
